Soccer Coach Hired

Dr. Jason Snodgrass, Superintendent of Schools, is pleased to announce Michael Brown as head coach for the boys and girls soccer program. Brown will also be teaching social studies at Fort Osage High School. He has also taught for the past six years at Oak Grove High School and is currently teaching American History, World History and Psychology in addition to being the head coach for theOak Grove High School boys and girls soccer programs. 

Brown earned his Bachelor's Degree in History, Secondary Education and ACT-IN from William Jewell College in 2010 and he completed his Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Social Studies from UMKC in 2013. In coaching, Brown holds a U.S. Soccer CLicense and a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. Additionally, he is a coaching instructor for Missouri Youth Soccer Association.

In his time with the Oak Grove boys’ soccer program, they have earned a district championship and reached the state quarterfinal in2011, which is the furthest any team has reached at Oak Grove. The girls’ soccer program won their first ever district game as a program in 2015 and have reached district finals on multiple occasions. "I am very excited to step into an already successful Fort Osage soccer program. The work that is being done here is great and I hope to expand on the successes this program has found. I've heard many great things about this program and am excited to work with these talented players,” said Brown.
